Cloud Computing

Cloud computing description

Within this area, we help companies and organizations adopt Cloud technologies. We create customized, agile, and robust architecture solutions designed to meet the client’s specific needs, prioritizing security, performance, and scalability.
We are specialists in infrastructure modernization through the deployment and implementation of cloud-native solutions and container orchestrators (Kubernetes)
Our services:

  • Multi-Cloud Architecture and Design: We design and provision infrastructure in the public cloud.

  • Deployment Automation: We implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), providing agile and reliable deployments.

  • Cloud Security (DevSecOps): We evaluate and integrate solutions to ensure secure deployments, following industry standards and best practices such as CIS Benchmark and OWASP.

  • On-Premise to Cloud Migration: We plan and execute the migration of on-premise services to the cloud securely, optimizing costs according to the client’s needs.

  • Container Orchestrator Deployment: We assist in selecting, managing, and deploying container orchestrators (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, OpenShift).

  • Architecture Assessment: We review existing cloud-deployed architectures and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Training: We train teams with the necessary knowledge to manage, maintain, and operate cloud architectures.

Cloud computing success stories

Cardinality estimation of graph data base queries
Cardinality estimation in relational databases is a well-studied problem, but graph databases rarely follow the uniformity and independence assumptions that these estimators make, and therefore lose precision.
Sound refuge
CAMARAC is a non-profit artistic collective dedicated to the environment and improving life in cities. Refugi Sonor is a project about noise pollution and its impact on the well-being of citizens.
CloudPGD
Develop a SaaS (Software as a Service) called CloudPGD, as a platform with an integrated digital twin for decision-making in the industrial sector.
UNIDACT (Universal Data Compression with Circular Context Trees)
The objective of the project is to translate Matlab code into C++ and improve its internal structures in order to facilitate the expansion of the project in the near future.
Development of an on-demand HPC task submission portal
In this project, the inLab FIB team has worked jointly with the Barcelona Innovative Transportation (BIT) research group of the ETSECCPB school in the development of a web solution for HPC task submission within the framework of the European E-Med project.
