Refugi Sonor is a project that explores the impact of noise pollution on people’s well-being through an immersive experience that combines art and technology. Driven by the artistic collective CAMARAC, the project invites reflection on the effects of noise in cities and encourages the imagination of new ways to build healthier and more sustainable urban environments.
In this context, the inLab FIB UPC is participating in the development of an intelligent audio processing engine, responsible for orchestrating the sound experience that underpins the installation. The solution integrates different audio processing technologies to create an interactive experience that raises visitors’ awareness of this issue and explores new forms of interaction between technology, the urban space and the public.
The experience is part of the official programme for Barcelona World Architecture Capital 2026 and will be on display in Poblenou from 29 June to 3 July 2026.
