Epidemiological Survey System for Vall d’Hebron

Description

The Drassanes-Vall d’Hebron International Health and Communicable Diseases Center is a specialized center for the detection, prevention, and treatment of infectious diseases, especially those related to international travel and high-risk populations. As part of its activities, the Center has awareness and informational resources published on the eSPICTools platform, as well as field surveys conducted in different areas of Catalonia by health agents, currently in paper format.

In this context, the integration of the Mundo Sano Foundation into the HSUS platform, using agile methodologies, will enable the development of a joint pilot with inLab FIB aimed at digitizing the surveys, providing graphical visualization of the results, and geolocating the actions carried out.

The most relevant functionalities to be integrated are:

  • A module for organization management that allows VHIR and Mundo Sano to manage their workspace within HSUS.
  • An automatic translation system that facilitates the use of the platform in Spanish for Mundo Sano users.
  • Improvements in case management, contact tracing, and on-site screening, adapted to the needs of the Center.
  • A new digital survey module organized in blocks, interoperable between organizations, allowing the migration of historical data and the adaptation of eSPICTools.
  • Improvements in offline work, enabling data collection in the field without an internet connection, and an integrated calendar for planning and tracking activities.

This integration will help modernize the Center’s processes, improve the efficiency of fieldwork, and strengthen the capacity for analysis and response to infectious diseases.
