Within the framework of the SEAT-UPC chair and with the collaboration of the Wireless Networks Group (WNG), the inLab has developed a communication module between a SAMSUNG mobile terminal and different SAMSUNG wearable devices.
This module allows biometric data of the driver to be collected in real time and displayed in the infotainment system of the SEAT vehicle. The communication between the two devices is carried out via MirrorLink, this system allows you to block certain functions of the mobile phone in order not to violate the rules of distraction while driving and thus improve the safety of the driver.
The project allows the user to review the historical record of their last journeys, and consult specific information about their vehicle on the last journey, once their journey has been completed.
This functionality together with the rest of SEAT’s Infotainment system was presented at the last edition of the Mobile World Congress, with great success, and has established a reference to follow for what, in the automotive sector, is understood as to connected car.
You can find the video with the presentation of the system.
