Description

The objective of this project is to support a pilot street test on On-Demand Transportation being carried out by a group of CARNET partners.

inLab FIB’s responsibilities in the project are as follows:

  • Experimental design
  • Design a design that maximizes the quality of the results based on the number and levels of case study defining parameters evaluated. A Pilot Test 1 with synthetic demand and a Pilot Test 2 with real demand of RACC students and staff with origin/destination to the Pedralbes Campus/RACC Headquarters were defined.
  • Provide the Origin-Destination demand pattern and the pattern of inter-arrival times of trip requests for the first week of the pilot with synthetic demand.
  • Student selection
  • Establish volunteer selection criteria and filter available volunteers to obtain the sample for the second week of the pilot.
  • Prepilot
  • Street test the system before the pilot to validate the apps used, making some real trips with the collaboration of Shotl (app and server). A car and the project partners were used as users for one morning.
  • Data analysis
  • Analyze the experimental results for Pilot Tests 1 and 2, in order to evaluate the impact of the design parameters on the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) defined by the project.
