The objective of this project is to support a pilot street test on On-Demand Transportation being carried out by a group of CARNET partners.
inLab FIB’s responsibilities in the project are as follows:
Experimental design
Design a design that maximizes the quality of the results based on the number and levels of case study defining parameters evaluated. A Pilot Test 1 with synthetic demand and a Pilot Test 2 with real demand of RACC students and staff with origin/destination to the Pedralbes Campus/RACC Headquarters were defined.
Provide the Origin-Destination demand pattern and the pattern of inter-arrival times of trip requests for the first week of the pilot with synthetic demand.
Student selection
Establish volunteer selection criteria and filter available volunteers to obtain the sample for the second week of the pilot.
Prepilot
Street test the system before the pilot to validate the apps used, making some real trips with the collaboration of Shotl (app and server). A car and the project partners were used as users for one morning.
Data analysis
Analyze the experimental results for Pilot Tests 1 and 2, in order to evaluate the impact of the design parameters on the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) defined by the project.
