inLab FIB has collaborated with Punto de Referencia in the development of an application to manage mentoring meetings and collect evidence of the methodology to evaluate the impact.

Punto de Referencia is a Catalan non-profit organization, created in 1997, to offer accompaniment and support to the group of young people who have to start their adult life, once they leave the centers where they have lived under the tutelage of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Punto de Referencia promoted the creation of the Coordinadora Mentoría Social, a network that brings together 14 mentoring projects and will manage the application.

Mentoring is a social intervention tool that promotes the relationship between people who, voluntarily, offer to provide individual support to another person who is at risk of exclusion.

The technical people responsible for the mentoring relationship need a tool that allows them to know in depth two main aspects:

• The organizational aspect: once the meeting has taken place, how long it lasted and where it was held.
• The qualitative aspect: what was the objective of the meeting, what was the content of the meeting and what is the mentor’s assessment.

Taking this into account, the main objective of the project is the design and creation of an application for Smartphones, linked to a website for the internal management and collection of evidence of the professional team.

The application must allow the mentor to easily communicate information relevant to his or her meetings, and, on the other hand, the team management website must provide relevant information about the meetings and allow the mentors to be tracked.
