Information System for the Carles Pi i Sunyer Foundation

Description

The Carles Pi i Sunyer Foundation is a center for research, study and promotion of knowledge in the field of local government and autonomous communities. In order to manage its studies and surveys more efficiently and conveniently, it commissioned inLab to analyze, design and develop an information system to store and manage all the statistical studies conducted by the Foundation and to merge the data matrices of these studies.

In order to merge two of these data matrices, relationships between the variables must be established. A system has been developed to facilitate the process of relating variables by means of question statements. To carry out this process, the work has been divided into two modules.

  1. The first of these modules will allow Foundation users to enter a questionnaire into the system. The system will analyze the entered questionnaire and extract information about the questions, which will be stored in a database.
  2. The second module will read the information about the questions from the database and display it to the user in an intuitive way, so that the user can establish the relationships of a question with other questions, based on the statement. These relationships will also be recorded in the database, generating a more robust system with more knowledge as its use progresses, making it easier and easier to relate the questions.
