SAGA: System of Administration and Academic Management of public centers dependent on the Department of Education.

Description

During the years 2003, 2004, and 2005, inLab FIB, in collaboration with the research group Laboratory of Modeling and Analysis of Information (LIAM), developed the management application for public educational centers dependent on the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya. (Management of 2,500 centers, 50,000 teachers, and 500,000 enrolled students)

The application allows for the management of study plans, student enrollment, curriculum distribution, evaluation, issuance of reports and official certificates, support of administrative processes, and the economic management of the centers.

Starting in 2006, the evolutionary and corrective maintenance of SAGA is the responsibility of the company T-Systems. During 2006 and until September 2007, collaboration with T-Systems took place to transfer the knowledge of the application and part of the work team.
