Airtos (AIdvanced Real Time Traffic Optimization System) by Acisa

Description

This project aims to investigate and develop a disruptive traffic management pilot model that takes advantage of the possibilities offered by the latest advances in computing, communications and data sources. The initiative seeks to overcome the limitations of traditional traffic management models and introduce a new way of understanding, modelling and acting on mobility, based on data analysis and the application of advanced technologies.

The model will be deployed on SATURNO, the traffic control system developed by ACISA, with the aim of validating its operation in a real-world environment and verifying its applicability in different use cases. This validation will allow the solution’s potential to improve traffic management and facilitate more efficient decision-making to be assessed.

This project is subsidised by ACCIÓ through the Innotec grants (2021 call), a support programme for industrial research and experimental development projects that fosters collaboration between Catalan companies, such as ACISA, and TECNIO-accredited technology developers, such as the inLab FIB.
