On 19, 20 and 21 October took place the fifth edition of the UPC Hack. In this edition, different prizes were awarded by each of the sponsors of the Hack UPC 2018, of which two inLabers teams took three of them.
The Neighborgood team formed by Juan Salmerón, Marc Vila, Ester Lorente and Sandra Martín, who took home two first prizes corresponding to sponsors AWSEducate y Bloomberg. They developed a web application to compare neighborhoods in Barcelona taking into account environmental factors (air quality, number of trees and green areas), economic, total population or security.
The first prize collected by the Neighborgood team was that of the sponsor AWSEducate with its challenge “The AWS City of a Cloud Serverless Hackathon”, where the ability to develop and apply everything that AWS Serverless can offer was rewarded.
The team’s next prize was that of the sponsor Bloomer, who rewarded the team with the best project in the field of ICT.
The second team with inLabers participants, barFib, formed by Gisela Ruzafa, Jaume Ballester y Carles Rojas won the third prize of IThinkUPC Challenge. His project consisted of a mobile application that will help to reduce the time and queues at the bar of the Faculty of Computing of Barcelona.
The barFIB project framed within the challenge of the organizer of the HackUPC in which it was requested to develop an app to improve any service that the university gives to the students.
