We live in a society where it is increasingly important to know how to protect passwords that give access to personal information that we have on the Internet, such as where we live, bank accounts, information about family members, etc.
Unfortunately, there is always the chance of a password being stolen, so not doing everything possible to keep them secure is being irresponsible.
PASSWORD MANAGERS, WHAT ARE THEY?
A password manager is a program that is used to save a large number of usernames and their respective passwords. The database where all this information is stored is encrypted through a master key that is the only one the user must remember to access all other.
This operation makes it easier for the user to dare to use more difficult passwords without the risk of forgetting them later.
Some current browsers like Chrome and Firefox, among others, have a built-in password manager, but the encryption system they use is not as secure as that of software dedicated exclusively to this task, so we strongly discourage it.
LASTPASS
LastPass is a password manager that has a free version where you can save passwords or notes securely, it is accessible from any device, you can share passwords with someone, generate strong passwords automatically and use 2-factor authentication, among other features.
One of the best features is that it has an extension that we can install in the browser that will allow you to autofill passwords automatically on login forms as if we had the passwords saved in the browser.

TIPS TO HAVE A SECURE PASSWORD
- A good password should have at least 3 of the following 4 items:
- Numbers
- Letters
- Uppercase and lowercase
- Symbols ($, @, &, #, etc.)
- At least 12 characters in length.
- Do not use keyboard-adjacent types (QWERTY, 123).
- Do not use known information (username, anniversary, mail, etc.).
- Do not use the same password on different services.
- Not having them on paper.
