Simulation of the implementation of a fleet of AGVs at the Prat production plant

The Damm group’s production plant in El Prat del Llobregat is one of the first fully automated liquid packaging companies. This process has been made possible by the integration of a fleet of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) that optimize their movements to service the daily production schedule.

The optimization process is of vital importance for the life of the batteries and to meet the schedule.

The simulated virtual factory allows:

• Evaluate current planning and management algorithms.
• Check and validate the communication protocols between the different agents involved in the transport (AGV, Plant, Stowage).
• Analyze the behavior of the system in different operating situations.
