AWS Summit Madrid 2023
Authors:

On June 15, some colleagues from inLab FIB attended the AWS Summit Madrid 2023 event, held at the IFEMA venue in Madrid. During this day, they had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the latest developments in the world of cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence.

The event provided us with an ideal setting to attend multiple talks and conferences, highlighting those in which we were presented with the cloud architectures implemented by renowned companies, such as Ryanair, BBVA and Glovo. It was fascinating to learn about the innovative solutions these organizations have adopted to optimize their operations and provide quality services to their customers.

In addition, we also dedicated part of our stay to delving into the art of Kubernetes, an essential tool in container orchestration. During these talks, we were presented with several tools, among which was highlighted ‘Karpenter’, a node autoscaler from the Kubernetes cluster that allows you to define policies to add or remove nodes based on demand and economic budget. Without a doubt, discovering these hitherto unknown tools has provided us with a more complete and updated vision of the possibilities offered by Kubernetes.

On the other hand, this event allowed to attend multiple talks, such as “Build your Data Mesh in a distributed way with AWS” carried out by the Glovo team and an AWS expert, in which attendees could learn the process of updating their data management infrastructure. Another outstanding talk was given by the Wallapop team, explaining how to accelerate the development procedures of Machine Learning models through the use of Amazon SageMaker.

In summary, our participation in the AWS Summit Madrid has been a very enriching experience. As a result of the constant evolution of technology, developers must stay updated, and that is why attendance at the AWS Summit Madrid has allowed our attendees to understand the latest developments in this platform and know the different use cases in the sector. Likewise, this event has given us the opportunity to establish connections and collaborations with other professionals and experts in the sector.

We thank AWS for hosting this event and look forward to future opportunities to continue expanding our horizons and contribute to technology development.
