The PME project, carried out in collaboration with Telefónica I+D, consists of the development of a tool for the publication of courses, activities or small applications within e-learning platforms, achieving a dynamic learning environment respecting the SCORM model.
SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) is a set of standards and specifications for creating structured learning objects. The main requirements that this model seeks to satisfy are:
- Accessibility: ability to access learning components from a distant location through web technologies, as well as to distribute them to other locations.
- Adaptability: ability to customize training according to the needs of individuals and organizations.
- Durability: ability to withstand the evolution of technology without requiring re-engineering, reconfiguration or code rewriting.
- Interoperability: ability to be used in another location and with another set of tools or on another platform of learning components developed within a location, with a certain set of tools or on a certain platform. There are many levels of interoperability.
- Reusability: flexibility that allows the integration of teaching components within multiple contexts and applications.
