inLab FIB participated in the TECNIO Workshop on construction technologies, a one-day event held on 8 October at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) that brought together representatives of companies in the construction sector and specialists in technology development from the TECNIO network.
The event, organised by the TECNIO Association and the Institute of Construction Technology of Catalonia (ITeC), with the collaboration of the UOC and the support of ACCIÓ, brought together representatives from companies, technology centres, research groups and other innovation stakeholders.
On behalf of inLab FIB, Mercè Vila, Marc Catrisse and Marta Cuatrecasas attended the event, taking part in a working session and knowledge exchange on the challenges and opportunities for innovation in the construction sector.
The workshop combined the presentation of a report on the current trends and challenges in the sector with various participatory working sessions. Among the areas addressed were digitalisation, BIM, digital twins, data and artificial intelligence, as well as sustainable construction, automation, robotics and new materials.
The meeting has also provided networking and connection opportunities between companies and TECNIO agents, with the aim of identifying collaboration opportunities and driving new innovation projects that address the sector’s needs.
