{"id":32953,"date":"2019-11-25T09:24:00","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T08:24:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inlab.fib.upc.edu\/news\/inlabers-winners-at-hackeps\/2019\/"},"modified":"2025-03-03T17:15:38","modified_gmt":"2025-03-03T16:15:38","slug":"inlabers-winners-at-hackeps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inlab.fib.upc.edu\/en\/news\/inlabers-winners-at-hackeps","title":{"rendered":"inLabers winners at HackEPS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On November 23 and 24, the third edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/lleidahack.github.io\/hackeps-2019\/\">HackEPS<\/a> was held, a hackathon organized by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eps.udl.cat\/ca\/\">Escola Polit\u00e8cnica Superior<\/a> of the University of Lleida with the aim of motivating people to see programming as a hobby. More than 100 young people from all over Catalonia participated, where participants could form groups of a maximum of 4 people. All groups had 24 hours to propose a solution to one of the challenges presented by the companies sponsoring the event.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Among the participants of the HackEPS we had several groups of inLabers formed by Victor Tom\u00e1s, Alex Catal\u00e1n, Alejandro Mas, Ferran Toda and Quim Ferrer. The team of Alex Catalan and Victor Tom\u00e0s made a system that measures environmental parameters in the home environment (temperature and humidity) using sensors connected to a Raspbian operating system, connected at the same time to an API hosted on its own WEB server. The project was done with Amazon Alexa, Flask, Ionic, Python, Raspbian and Tensorflow.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The team of Quim L\u00e1zaro, Marta Gil, Victor Div\u00ed and Albert Garriga (ex-inLaber) won first prize in the hackathon and took on the challenge proposed by <a href=\"http:\/\/eurecat.org\/\">Eurecat<\/a>: Cotton, Cognitive task ordering, they did a project called Dolly Workers where they made a task prioritization system simulating the thinking of several workers, each with different criteria and priorities. They made a linear model with a rule-based model and a neural network.
