UPC UOC Colaboration

The uLab UPC UOC project consists in the developing of different projects in the area of learning technologies which will be used in the Campus Virtual of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).

We have started the project with a comparative analysis and a proof of concept about XMPP servers and web and mobile clients of the market, with the purpose of enhancing the presence systems and chat mechanisms of UOC's virtual campus. Thus, the students and teachers of the university will be able to use their favourite chat client to interact with others users. Furthermore, it will provide a flexible and extensible mechanisms to manage the presence and communication between users.

In a second agreement we developed two projects in parallel:

• integration of a tool Remote Desktop in the Virtual Campus.
• integration in the Virtual Campus of a tool for polls made by the teacher and students can answer by mobile phone.

In order to develop these projects different methodologies will be applied such as Scrum  in order to manage the projects properly and eXtreme Programming technics as development technic.
