Study of the evacuation proccess of the Big Room of the National Theatre of Catalonia

The aim of this study is to evaluate the evacuation time of the Big Room of the National Theatre of Catalonia taking into account different scenarios. InLab is carrying out this study using computerized simulation techniques.

This study is being performed using a flux model that takes into account the topology of the central room of this theater and allows parameterizing the executions in the simulator according to experimental values provided by literature and the National Fire Protection Association.

This study confirms that the building is ready to be evacuated without exceeding appropriate evacuation times. Furthermore, the study helps detecting possible security breaches that can lead to structural improvements in order to avoid them.
