This project has been developed at inLab FIB in collaboration with Eolymp. It is an extension of the tooPath tracking system designed for real-time massive tracking of long race runners. This way, the organizers of the race have more accurate information on the evolution and position of the participants.

Tracking runners also serves as an extra security measure since it saves their last known position in case of an accident.  Furthermore, following the evolution of the race, locating a specific runner or calculating the distance to the closest runner are some of the features that add to this system an operative and logistic value.

SportTraces combines the use of a portable device carried by the runner that sends and receives information and a server that hosts a web service that displays in real time the position of all the runners and race statistics.

SportTraces Xtrem Running has been used at the Xtrem Running Costa Brava 2012 race, as you can see in the photos above.
