SAGA: System Administration and Academic Management of public schools under the Department of Education

During the years 2003, 2004 and 2005 inLab FIB, in collaboration with the research group Laboratory of Information Analisys and Modelling (LIAM) developed an application for the management of public schools under the Department of Education of the Government of Catalonia. (Management of 2,500 schools, 50,000 teachers and 500,000 enrolled students).

The application allows the management of curricula, student enrollment, distribution of curricula and assessment. Furthermore, it allows to issue reports and official certificates, provides suspport to both administrative processes and financial management of the centers.

Since 2006, the evolving and corrective maintenance of SAGA is responsability of the company T-Systems. During 2006 and until September 2007, inLab worked with T-Systems in the transfer of knowledge of the application and was a part of the workteam.
