A delegation of senior Mossos d'Esquadra officials visited the inLab FIB of the UPC to learn about the technological capabilities of this innovation and research laboratory and to analyze possible areas of collaboration.
The visit of the delegation of senior managers of the Mossos d'Esquadra with the management and managers of the different areas of specialization of inLab FIB, the innovation and research laboratory of the Faculty of Informatics of Barcelona( FIB) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC), took place on 2 December. The delegation was headed by the Director General of the Police, Pere Ferrer, and the Chief Commissioner, Eduard Sallent. They have also assisted 11 commanders and managers of the various technological areas of the Police.
The objective of the meeting has been to know firsthand the technological capabilities of inLab FIB in its areas of specialization -data science and Big Data; intelligent mobility; knowledge and service engineering; cybersecurity and modelling, simulation and optimization: Digital Twin- and analyze possible areas of collaboration.
The delegation of the Mossos d'Esquadra was received by the rector of the UPC, Daniel Crespo; the dean of the FIB, Josep Fernández Ruzafa, and the director of the inLab FIB, Ernest Teniente.
This visit is framed in the context of the national intelligence directive that the Mossos are currently ending and whose main objective is to guide and legitimize the police activity of the Mossos based on information, processing and intelligence generation.
