The Independent Living Center (Centre de Vida Independent) is a center that is aimed at serving the elderly with dependency and/or people with disabilities, using support products and technology to improve the quality of life, giving more autonomy and security at home.
One of the main tasks carried out by the center is the functional adaptation of the home for people with reduced mobility.
Requests for adaptations come to them from private and public bodies, such as the Barcelona City Council, which sends them a referral sheet, a PDF file where the data associated with an intervention is collected and which includes the essential information to start a study of functional adaptation.
The inLab FIB collaborates with the CVI to offer a web service that allows automating referrals from different organizations within the web manager that the CVI uses on a day-to-day basis.
The collaboration consists of three phases:
The migration of a referral consists of a process of validating the stored information to detect errors and warnings of the information received and, if no errors have been detected, registering the user assigned to the referral within the CVI information system.
In parallel, some incidents associated with the day-to-day running of the CVI and its web manager have been resolved.
