Disk erase analysis

inLab FIB has collaborated with the company Borax S.L. to perform the verification of the disk erase functionality of an application developed by them.

The objective of the project was to verify that once the deletion was made on a disk, the information contained in that disk could not be recovered using typical procurement methods, such as forensic tools or recovery tools offered by operating systems.

The action taken to perform the verification of the application have been limited to a specific version of the application and have been made on an inLab equipment where, previously, a concrete data dump had been made to facilitate, subsequently, the thorough verification of the deletion.
