La Nit de les Telecomunicacions i la Informàtica gives Marcel Coderch and Manel Medina the Honor Award

On March 18, la 24 Nit de les Telecomunicacions i la Informàtica was held, a pioneering and refrence act of the Telecommunications and Information Technologies sector held in Barcelona since 1995, organized by l'Associació Catalana d'Enginyers de Telecomunicació (Telecos.cat) and el Col·legi Oficial d'Enginyeria en Informàtica de Catalunya (COEINF) at l'Auditori de Barcelona. The ceremony was also attended by the presidents of the Generalitat and the Parlament, Quim Torra and Roger Torrent.

La Nit is the starting point of the sector's activites in Barcelona and the first networking meeting of the year among proefessionals, companies, public administration, associations and institutions of the ICT sector. Where the following awards were delivered:

  • Award Salvà i Campillo outstanding personality: (NTENT Hispania, Ricardo Baeza-Yates)
  • Award Alan Turing CIO of the year: (Supercomputing Center (BSC), Sergi Girona)
  • Award Salvà  Campillo entrepeneur: (Intesis Software, Josep Ceron y Pere Lumbreras)
  • Award Alan Turing social commitment : Asociación de Universitarios para la Cooperación
  • Award de Honor: (Autoridad Catalana de la Competencia (ACCO), Marcel Coderch and the professor of the UPC Manel Medina)
